VIC - 0568 - Susminster - Synopsis

VIC - 0568 - BRMA British Layouts - "Susminster" Various Prototypes 1950's DC 4mm/OO 1:76
Gallery0568 - Description

The name of the layout is Susminster because the builder has never been to Britain so as far as a prototype or location it is pretty "suspect".

The rationale behind the layout was just to incorporate things that were liked & ideas that had been bouncing around, and, modelling wise ideas that were liked from both other models & real images.

At present the scenic part of the layout is 2 metres by a varying width of approximately 600mm. It has a single line running to a single platform station which can only accommodate three carriages. There is a freight yard & some head shunts. Buildings are a combination of plastic & cardboard kits, a couple of pre-cast buildings & some kitbashed buildings bought or acquired second hand over previous years.

Layout is DCC control with analog point control.
Susminster has recently been converted to DCC sound and is currently running a class 08, class 105 DMU and 72xx all with sound.
Also running a Maunsell M7 push pull set and a Ivatt 2MT tank all with early BR livery.

The layout is to be extended as time & space permits.
